Tori Spelling’s husband, Dean McDermott is back in the headlines for falling behind in spousal support to his ex-wife.
Entertainment media outlet, E! News, has received court documents filed by Mary Jo Eustace, Dermott’s ex-wife on January 25, 2017. The court affidavit alleges that the McDermott has missed eight installments of spousal support. The last payment was made on July 1, 2016 of $6000 that include attorney fees.
The couple had a son during their union.
Eustace stated in the affidavit, “McDermott is working and lives in a 2 million dollar rental. An order was entered mid-September. He stopped paying in November—also for 2 years prior he did not pay and I renegotiated in good faith moving forward. He owes me from February 1, 2017 100,800 in monthlies until July 1, 2020.”
A source that is close to Eustace stated, “He owes money and he’s getting a $40,000 shower for his new baby while neglecting his responsibilities to his oldest child and ex-wife? That’s what’s upsetting her.”
The source is referring to the baby shower that Candy Spelling held for her daughter in celebration of Tori’s fifth child with McDermott.
Another source stated that Jack actually lived with Tori and Dean for two years and they fully supported him. However, that is no longer the case, Jack is back with Eustace and no longer communicates with Tori or Dean.
McDermott is expected to appear in court on March 7.
The couple has currently been afflicted with money problems in the last few months, problems that include Spelling being sued twice by American Express in January 2016 for not paying a $37,981.97 balance and another one a month before for not paying a balance of more than $80,000 on her Amex platinum credit cards.
In Tori’s 2013 memoir, Spelling It Like It Is, Spelling wrote, “It’s no mystery why I have money problems. I grew up rich beyond anyone’s wildest dreams. I never knew anything else. Even when I try to embrace a simpler lifestyle, I can’t seem to let go of my expensive tastes. Even when my tastes aren’t fancy, they’re still costly. I moved houses to simplify my life, but lost almost a million dollars along the way.”
McDermott has a court date set for March 7, 2017.
